Holoepta
While enjoying the rain outside I found a beetle I almost destroyed because I thought it was roach. But the large mandibles, shiny black exoskelton, and square like body of this male beetle stopped me from destroying a native specimen. From what I read it appears these are a predator beetle that eats insect larva found in rotting plant matter.
